The ability to tune your car’s custom suspension to suit any terrain and track is of critical importance. Anyone looking to get peak performance from their handling, grip and ride needs to make spring height and balance adjustments without a pit crew.
Generally speaking, there is no time to put your ride up on a lift or jack stands at the track, so you need the ability to change things quickly by yourself. If the need for convenient customization describes you, you want to consider upgrading your suspension coilover kit to a Bilstein B16 Suspension Coilover Kit.
Bilstein makes many types of suspension, and there is something for every level of performance tuning enthusiast in their product line. The B16 Coilover suspension kit is built to be their peak performances suspension for any owner or driver looking to customize their handling and ride comfort for any route, track, or terrain. Upgrading your factory suspension to a Bilstein B12 or B14 Suspension kit will give you superior handling and ride like your car is on rails, but neither can as easily customized as the B16.
Every road and track is different, and your suspension kit needs to be adjustable to respond to the demands of your driving environment. A threaded body makes it much easier to make adjustments “on the fly” when you’re at the car club or getting ready for track day.
Thanks to its high performance monotube gas pressure system, both damping and compression can be adjusted with an easy-to-reach adjustment knob. Try each of the 10 presets to see which suits your driving style best, and get that perfect sport tuning for track day or a trip along the back roads.
Sharp edged threads are bad news for DIY tuners, and they also tend to get worn down more quickly under the influence of grit and road salt. Rounded threads eliminate this issue and make it easy to adjust the shocks even while mounted.
Got a ride with electronic suspension control? Install a Bilstein-DampTronic Module and customize your car’s suspension on the go using a smartphone or onboard controls. Dial in the perfect ride for any road or situation without ever leaving the driver’s seat, and experience the power and control of Bilstein Suspension for yourself.
Ready for that major suspension upgrade? Looking for extra customization. Get yourself a Bilstein B16 Coilover Suspension Kit and get ready to go from cruising to racing suspension with the push of a button.
There is something truly elegant about a well built coupe. The sleek lines, the aggressive stance, and that aesthetic impression that the car is actually moving even when it stands still are all part of the allure of a coupe versus a saloon car.
A prime example of elegant coupe design is the Audi A5. Purpose built as a triumphant return to the world of entry-level executive coupe cars, the first generation of A5s were built on the B8 platform shared by the 2007 Audi A4 and S4. A sleek two-door coupe equipped with Audi's newly designed 3.2 Litre TFSI V6 turbocharged petrol engine, this executive style coupe could achieve up to 261 brake horsepower.
Drivers who preferred diesel could order their A5 with a 2.7 Litre TDI Turbocharged V6 that cranked out an impressive 185 horsepower. The combination of the lighter weight frame and two-door design resulted in an ideal car for anyone seeking a fast coupe experience without sacrificing the cargo and passenger amenities of a good saloon.
Taking its lineage from the innovative Nuvolari quattro concept car, the A5 and S5 Coupe were both unveiled simultaneously in Switzerland and Australia in the spring of 2007. The first A5 coupes off the assembly line were V6 only in petrol 3.2 FSI or 3.0 TDI quattro, both with a 6-speed manual gearbox or an optional Tiptronic manual/automatic transmission.
With four frameless doors and a gorgeous tapering roofline, the A5 Sportback combined the best of both worlds from its saloon and coupe heritage. The distinguishing feature of the Sportback is its elongated rear gate that opens like a hatchback, giving it a sportier appearance without sacrificing the utility of a rear hatch door.
Since the A5 was drawn from the venerable Audi 80 (Audi's longtime flagship model was retired in 1995), there are stylistic homages present throughout the design, particularly in the front end design and stance of the A5 Sportback.
The Sportback differed from the Coupe primarily in its target market: the Sportback was aimed more toward commuters interested in carpooling, or who wanted additional cargo space in the boot. A5 Sportbacks came standard with Audi's 2.0 Litre TFSI I4 with turbocharger or the 2.0L TDI, but they could also be ordered with the 3.2 FSI V6 turbo and quattro all-wheel-drive as well.
The performance trim level of the A5 line, the A5 S-Line launched in 2007 model year, and came standard with Audi's big block, 349 horsepower 4.2L FSI supercharged V8 and quattro drivetrain. Drivers preferring diesel could opt for the 3.0L TDI and its more economic 237 horsepower.
Not wanting to limit options for their four-door loving customers, Audi introduced an A5 Sportback S-Line for the 2009 model year. With a standard 329 horsepower 3.0 Litre TFSI Supercharged V6, this A5 put the sport in Sportback. The A5 Sportback S-Line is a sports car in every sense of the word, but it still has room for a few friends and their luggage for a weekend getaway or a night in town.
2010 brought the introduction of the Audi A5 Black Edition, a limited run of the A5 with many of the aesthetic and performance upgrades of the S-Line. Potential buyers could choose from a powerful 2.0L I4 turbocharged TFSI or a 2.0L TDI. Leather seats, Audi door badges, piano black inlays and luxury trimmings display prominently throughout the interior, including a Bang and Olufsen premium audio kit and a flat-bottomed, racing-style steering wheel.
The bodykit was similarly upgraded with all black handles, a blackout polished grille, black fog light surrounds, and a black matte finish number plate holder. This gorgeous car rolled on a set of four limited edition, 19-inch custom blackout aluminum wheels, and while it carried a heftier price tag than a standard A5, it had the allure and performance that surpassed many S5s.

Audi AI is the latest driver assist offering by Audi. In 2017, Audi declared that its new A8 will be completely self-driving and able to reach up to 60 mph using its Audi AI. Unlike other AI vehicles, drivers will not need to carry out safety checks such as making contact with the steering wheel every few seconds to allow the AI to be used. This means the Audi A8 will be the very first mass produced car to attain level 3 autonomous driving, which means the driver can safely focus on anything other than driving, like using their mobile phone or watching a film.
